KUDOS TO PRO-FRIENDS and Lancaster!

Last year it was Habagat; this year, Glenda hit Cavite hard with sustained winds of 140kph and gustiness of up to 180kph. Subsequently, pictures of  “damaged” areas in Lancaster have started to appear on Facebook and several other blogs.

What I admire the most about PRO-FRIENDS is that, they IMMEDIATELY did something to fix yung mga naapektuhan ng bagyo, Remember yung damaged front ceiling ng Church of the Holy Family? You can definitely see that the estate management is making progress day after day.

Nagka-damage din yung ceiling ng loading/unloading area ng Leighton Hall. A week after, I checked back and okay na.

You can also see other ongoing re-construction in the area:

I admire PRO-FRIENDS for taking action this quick. It only shows that you guys are committed to make your homeowners happy, contrary to what your enemies have been spreading on Facebook.

I've had enough of negativity, let's talk about good will.

You'd probably think that this is a crazy thing to admit if you happen to be familiar with Lancaster New City and its developer, PRO-FRIENDS. You see, despite how Typhoon Glenda managed to totally beat the province of Cavite  (Lancaster Residences, included), I still want to be here. I like it here.

It's more than just the amenities. True, the closeness of the church and the grocery is nice. But more than that, I appreciate this developer's community managers. This has been proven to me many times: when in 2013, Habagat had flooded 90%, if not the whole of Cavite and now, when Glenda howled her way out of the province and left many Cavitenos without roofs.

We were fortunate because our house in LR had not been damaged. Pero, we truly appreciated the extra effort given by the management just to make sure the residents were all safe. During the storm, the guards were on-call and ready to pick your family up in case of the need to transfer to Leighton Hall.

I also heard that the high-ranking officials of the estate management were on site during the storm, busy taking calls and making reports.  I don't know about you, but that's commendable in my opinion.

After the storm, Cavite was without potable water. What PRO-FRIENDS did was it commissioned water delivery trucks for the residents. Since Cavite was also without power, they offered free phone charging in the clubhouse.  You don't get those from anywhere else.

Lancaster New City Cavite – City Tour

I was on my way home last Saturday (April 26) when I saw a large group of people at the Leighton Hall. Out of curiosity, I asked this young mommy what was happening. She said that she was looking into buying a home in Lancaster, and was waiting for her turn to board the “city tour” shuttle. Apparently, Lancaster New City has started giving “city tours” to prospective buyers to give them a better feel of the community.

I heard that the tourists were also able to see the Church of the Holy Family.   Last stop was Lancaster Square, where we saw families enjoying merienda or perhaps early dinner.

I wonder what my future neighbors thought about Lancaster New City. Pretty sure it left a good impression.

An Informative Fire Prevention Training

When the village administrator asked if I would be interested in participating in the Fire Prevention Training organized by LNC-HOA and PRO-FRIENDS, Inc., I didn't hesitate to say, “yes”. As a mother of two, and with my husband away for work, I wouldn't pass up the chance to learn of ways to better protect my children from any kind of harm. When I got to SEIS (St. Edward Integrated School) on May 10, shortly before 9 in the morning, I was glad to see many parents sharing my sentiments. It was a whole-day event, lasting til 4 in the afternoon. It was in coordination with the Imus Bureau of Fire Protection, and some kids had a kick seeing “real” firefighters. I took down some notes, participated in the activities, and at the end of the day, I was armed with knowledge on how to prevent and fight fires. I sure wouldn't wish that I'd have to use these information someday, but it gives me peace of mind to know that I am able to protect my kids and our properties should that day come.

Here are some photos I took during the Fire Prevention Training:

Soap Making sa Lancaster

I was pleasantly surprised when PRO-FRIENDS last organized an activity for Lancaster residents. Nagulat talaga kami ng asawa ko when the Lancaster New City Village Admin personally invited us to this Soap Making seminar after Chinese New Year.

Totoo nga naman that homeowners could make a  business out of this concept. Aside from that, attendance is free. Walang akong rason to not accept the invitation.

More than 20 din kami na nagpunta sa free seminar. I enjoyed every minute of it. The instructors clearly knew what they were doing.

May na-take home pa akong fabric conditioner at papaya bath soap. Thank you na rin, PRO-FRIENDS.

I hope they keep doing this and maybe the tocino making sa Montefaro. My kumare told me about this event. Sounds interesting.

During The Holidays

I wasn't expecting much from Lancaster and PRO-FRIENDS. Pero my family enjoyed itong mga naging pakulo nila during the holidays. Meron kaming top 3, actually:

1) Free bibingka!

Nagkaroon muli, much to my family's delight, ng free buto bumbong and bibingka booths last December 24. What a way to mark the start and end of Simbang Gabi! Nicely done, pero, mas nagulat kami sa...

2) Fireworks display!

We didn't expect na magkakaroon ng Fireworks show sa loob mismo ng Lancaster New City to mark the eves of Christmas and New Year.

3)  Cute parols.

Ang gagaling ng contestants. That was my daughter's favorite; yung kamukha ng logo nila. Apologies na lang for the bad photo.

Nagkaroon din ng feast day mass and palaro  before New Year, but we weren't able to join. I think, one of my co-bloggers is interested to post about it. Let's just wait.
